Announcing: HTX Talent Internships

In order to get the top tier talent of tomorrow in Houston, we need to start building the pipeline today. That is why we are so excited to announce the launch of HTX Talent Internships. Now more than ever, we need to be focusing on shaping Houston’s tech leaders of the future.

We recognize that while many employers have scaled back on their internship offerings for the summer, and many students have experienced rescinded internship offers, a need still exists to connect tech companies in Houston with young up-and-coming talent. Amidst the climate of social distancing and transitions to remote work, we’ve included a few resources on how to host a fully remote yet impactful internship:

  1. Check out this guide by Yale’s Office of Career Strategy on how to successfully host virtual remote internships in the current climate.

  2. A great go-to resource is to look at companies that have always operated remotely. Take GitLab, for instance, which has over 1000 remote employees around the world. Their Considerations for Remote Internships guide is full of useful tips, such as how to hire remote interns, creating psychological safety, and how to provide remote mentorship during the internship.

  3. If you’re able to host an internship this summer, we encourage you to do so! You can submit your job description HERE and source interns via HTX Talent.

  4. Most importantly (for us), browse current internship openings on HTX Talent: Internships if you're in the market, or refer us to a friend who is!
